China
The other day the kids wanted Chinese Food for Dinner. I really do not like Chinese Food, I am hungry again five minutes after I get finished eating it. And I often wonder if it is really orange chicken I am eating, or if it is dog? Gross, sorry! After we ate the takeout Chinese food. It was my son, Bryken's turn to do the dishes. I was helping him and randomly he says to me, "Mom, I think I need to start taking Chinese lessons.""Why do you need to start taking Chinese lessons?", I asked
"Because I am going to go on my mission to China!", he replied, nonchalantly.
Not quite sure which direction I should head with his declaration, I ask him, "Oh, so you are going to go on a mission?"
"YES!", he says as he rolls his eyes.
"Well, why would you go on a mission?" I ask him.
This precious little six year old says to me - as my jaw drops at the conviction in his voice and his absolute certainty. "Well, there is three reasons I am going to go on a mission:
Number 1 is because I want to go on a mission.
Number 2 is because I want to teach people about Jesus.
Number 3 is because it will be lots of FUN!"
This is one of the precious gifts I have received from a loving Heavenly Father that knew, I needed my Bryken. I love this kid, and his strengths and his weaknesses. I am so blessed to have him in my life and learn from his sweet, strong testimony. Is six too early to begin Chinese Lessons?
